TRRAC proudly becomes an official accredited program through the

Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA)

West Chester, Pa - Thoroughbred Retirement, Rehabilitation, and Careers, a 501(c)3 non-profit thoroughbred racehorse placement program are very proud to announce it’s official accreditation by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, as one of 34 newly accredited organizations in 2020.

TRRAC completed the thorough application processes as well as thorough facility and horse inspections set forth by the TAA. The TAA’s mission statement as written officially on their website states:

“The 501(c)(3) nonprofit Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance accredits, inspects, and awards grants to approved aftercare organizations to retrain, retire, and rehome Thoroughbreds using industry-wide funding.

Since 2012, the TAA has granted more than $20.7 million to accredited aftercare organizations and 11,000 Thoroughbreds have been retrained, rehomed, or retired by accredited organizations.

Currently, 81 organizations with approximately 170 facilities hold TAA accreditation.”

Along with a thorough inspection and application process, TRRAC is bound to uphold The TAA Code of Standards, which covers the following areas: operations, education, horse health and care, facility standards, and adoption policies and standards.

TRRAC is proud to have been accepted as an accredited program- allowing us to remain at the highest standards of thoroughbred aftercare. With this accreditation, TRRAC has been able to expand its program to house up to 35 horses total at one time and we hope to be able to accommodate more within the years to come.

We would like to personally thank everyone for their support. We kindly thank our wonderful adopters, who care for the horses they have adopted. We also cannot give enough thanks to our volunteers who have dedicated their time and efforts towards our program, especially towards our horses.

We also give many thanks to our wonderful staff who work very hard to ensure our horses are kept in top condition, as well as have thoroughly screened applicants and work hard to ensure each horse is thriving in their new home.

We especially appreciate and thank our donors for their assistance. Your kind support has helped in many, many ways during these trying times in 2020. Each and every day we work tirelessly to ensure our horses are well-fed, comfortable, happy, and thrive in new careers. Each dollar goes a long way in our program to cover expenses from feed, farrier care, and veterinary visits.

Without all of your help, we would not be able to serve the horses who seek safe placement as well as assist the breeders, owners, and trainers who trust us to facilitate proper placement of each horse in our program. Despite COVID and the setbacks of 2020, many good things have come to light and we are ever so thankful for the loving support of everyone who seeks to support the TRRAC program and its horses. It is our hope that we continue to move forward and upward by providing aftercare services and sanctuary to retiring racehorses.

We look forward to a wonderful 2021 year with hopeful expansion to help facilitate the safe placement of even more horses.
