WELCOME! TRRAC is a Pennsylvania 501(c)3 non-profit Thoroughbred sanctuary, rescue, and aftercare program.
The program is hosted by Maui Meadow Farm,
Pennsylvania's oldest thoroughbred farm since 1946.
We are dedicated to a dignified retirement, rehabilitation and safe placement of thoroughbred racehorses when they are retired from their racing careers. We also offer permanent sanctuary for elderly and special needs horses. We provide specialized medical treatments, shoeing, nutritional care and professional training to ensure every horse is safe, happy and cared for.
While a majority of our horses are retired directly from their racing careers, we accept owner enrollments and offer sanctuary for forgotten and abandoned horses suffering from abuse and neglect. Our program is run from public assistance of donations and volunteers.
Our horses are fully evaluated for soundness, suitability for a second career and disposition, which includes riding assessments and professional training under saddle. We also house horses in need of rehabilitative treatment such as surgery and offer them rest and a safe sanctuary.
Whether you are a long-time horse owner or seeking your first horse, we strive to assist you and your family seek your perfect horse, answer any and all of your questions and step you through our easy processes, while offering support - even after adoption.
