Adopt A Horse In Need Today

Adopting a retired thoroughbred racehorse can be immensely rewarding for both the horse and the owner. This new journey will create opportunities for bonding as you provide your retired racehorse with a wonderful next chapter in life. On behalf of everyone at TRRAC, thank you for considering an off-the-track thoroughbred.

If you can't adopt, please consider sponsoring a horse in rehabilitation. These horses face a long recovery journey, and your support can significantly ease their transition and healing process.

Raven Rocks is a lovely-mannered gelding with no limitations. This horse is very well-behaved and has great ground manners. Raven is sound, easy to handle, and has no known vices. Raven is neutral in the herd and enjoys his time out during the day and in at night. He has had three rides under saddle, two of which were straight from his stall with no turnout and no prep needed- the rider was able to mount at the mounting block and go straight to work.

Raven's riding assessments were remarkable. He offered a nice walk on a loose rein, stepped over logs and ground poles, had lovely trot transitions, and even offered a nice canter when settled. One ride in the arena had an instance in which horses in a nearby field were feeling a bit too energetic and galloped around Raven, who did not mind and did not become distracted from what was being asked of him. This horse has minimal spook and is very friendly towards his handlers and riders. Raven stands nicely on cross ties, is excellent for the farrier and veterinarian, and is UTD on all vaccines, Coggins, deworming, teeth, and shoeing.

This horse would pair well with an amateur rider with a trainer for guidance and enjoy an all-around career of just about anything.
