OPEN DOOR DAYS
What are Open Door Days? Open Door Days were introduced to allow the general public an educational perspective to learn about thoroughbred horses.
Our horses are available to visit by the public every Saturday (with the exception of Holidays) starting at 9 AM. Horse experience is not needed, but will be gained when you take our tour!
During your tour, you will be guided by one of our staff members or volunteers to learn all about the life of a racehorse and what they look forward to in retirement.
Meet some famous horses who are residents in our sanctuary. We will provide the carrots and treats that you can feed and even take part in grooming and participate in swimming a horse.
Learn about how we care for our residents and if you are lucky you can witness a training session live and ringside!
What To Expect
We are a working farm. Please dress appropriately as you will encounter grass, dirt, sun and water puddles. It is recommended to wear welly boots during damp conditions. PLEASE NO OPEN TOE SHOES! Horses are living beings with minds of their own. Please do not pet or feed a horse without permission beforehand. We will provide treats, apples, and carrots. No outside treats are permitted.
ADULTS: $15 per person
CHILDREN 8 and up $7
Children 8 and under free
YOU MUST REGISTER BELOW AT LEAST ONE DAY IN ADVANCE IN ORDER TO VISIT. Please understand we are a working farm- please do not just "show up" otherwise or on non-open door days.
Your tour fee helps support our ongoing mission to provide medical care and safe sanctuary to our residents.
